Summary

We will improve the delivery logic for absolute top placement of Search-based Shopping Ads (hereinafter referred to as “SSA”).
Absolute top placement is a placement in which SSA appears at the very top of search results when users search with keywords indicating purchase intent, such as product names or model numbers. This improvement is intended to optimize ad delivery across Search Ads as a whole based on internet users’ search intent.

SSA may appear at the absolute top of search results in the following environments:

  • Yahoo! JAPAN Search for smartphones (web version)
  • Yahoo! JAPAN app for smartphones

Absolute top placement on PC version

We plan to start absolute top placement on Yahoo! JAPAN Search for PC around summer 2026. Details including the schedule will be announced once finalized.

The improvement to the delivery logic may change delivery trends. Please review your reports and consider adjusting bids or budgets as necessary.

Comments

  • When SSA is displayed at the absolute top of search results, it will not appear within the commerce search module.
  • We do not disclose which keywords are eligible for absolute top placement. Thank you for your understanding.
  • If delivery trends may change in the future due to further improvements to the delivery logic, we will announce the details once finalized.
